The Endless SummerThe Endless Summer The Endless Summer is an educational 2-minute short, distributed by StopGlobalWarming.org, about the effects of global warming. It appeared in Earth to America, which debuted on TBS on November 20, 2005. It was released online on February 7, 2006. Its title is based on the 1966 film, The Endless Summer. The short can be seen in QuickTime format on the site and the film is not considered canon because in current episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants, people still live in Bikini Bottom.
Plot SpongeBob is on his way to the Krusty Krab when he spots a large factory pipe mounted on the Krusty Krab's roof.
Inside is a parked boat pumping carbon dioxide into the pipe and out into the atmosphere. Mr. Krabs explains he is using global warming for his own advantages to open the Krusty Pool, planning an "endless summer". However, SpongeBob has a plan to create a more-effective endless summer.
Later, we see Mr. Krabs playing with tiny wax figurines of him and a customer of the Krusty Pool. However, the figurines suddenly start to melt as a result of the raised temperatures. Mr. Krabs suddenly sees fifteen boats pumping carbon dioxide into the air.
Outside, Bikini Bottom has become a hot wasteland. SpongeBob is throwing a tire into the fire. We see a mob of the citizens heading out of town, while Mr. Krabs thinks they're heading to the pool. Patrick explains to him that they're all moving north.
Mr. Krabs is both depressed and frustrated from the heat, while SpongeBob is excited to cannonball into the pool. However, the water quickly evaporates and SpongeBob lands in the empty concrete pool, exclaiming, "Ouch".
Interesting features of this short are, the irony that SpongeBob doesn't realise what he's doing wrong and, when everything gets hotter the flower clouds in the sky look as if they have been melted or smeared. The sky is also a dark beige color.Fonte: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Endless_S...uarePants_short) Edited by Squiddi (Panda) - 15/5/2007, 20:48
